Star Wars Black Series May Reveals

As you may already know May The 4th was last week and Revenge of The Sixth was earlier this week to commemorate the occasion, Hasbro revealed several Star Wars Black Series figures, most of which fans have been waiting a long time for! Here’s a list of the reveals:

May The 4th Reveals:

  • Revenge of The Sith Darth Sidious
  • Attack of The Clones Super Battle Droid
  • The Phantom Menace Dual of The Fates Three-Pack
  • The Clone Wars Yoda & Clone Commander Gree
  • Ahsoka Captain Enoch & Night Trooper

Revenge of The Sixth Reveals:

  • Return of The Jedi Emperor Palpatine & Throne (Amazon Exclusive)
  • Jedi Survivor Three-Pack (Amazon Exclusive)

As you can see the bulk of the reveals were on the 4th of May, with a heavy prequel focus, which I don’t have any problem with as their still plenty of missing characters for those displays. I am absolutely over the moon with the Revenge of The Sith Darth Sidious and The Phantom Menace Three-Pack! It’s fantastic to see the Super Battle Droid get a solo release so soon after the two-pack. So now fans can army-build Super Battle Droids for the Clones & Jedi to fight!

I am very happy to see Captain Enoch in the Black Series as fans have been waiting for him to appear since he first popped up in the Ahsoka series. The Night Trooper looks equally excellent and I can see both figures getting solo releases down the line.

The Revenge of The Sith Darth Sidious looks fantastic, The new robes with the sculpted hood look great and I love the new head sculpt and the lightsaber as well, I wonder if he’s on a different body as he was moving around a lot more during Revenge of The Sith, so I can imagine them using an amalgamation of parts hidden beneath the robes.

I’m so stoked that we’re getting a prequel-era Yoda with an interchangeable head and his Jedi Council chair! I love both headsculpts as the facial expressions are so different! The Clone Commander Gree looks just as impressive and I wonder if he has a removable helmet which would take the figure over the top.

The best reveal of all has to be the Dual of The Fates three-pack! As I am missing Qui-Gon Jinn, TPM Obi-Wan Kenobi and the TPM Darth Maul figure is rather outdated and this one looks to be on a new body as the knees are single-jointed, has butterfly joints in the shoulders, a new torso, and has a brand-new head. They all come with soft good cloaks as well which is a great added bonus and Maul’s looks exceptional!

On the sixth of May, they revealed two deluxe sets, a Jedi Survivor Droid three-pack which have new decos and weapons. The most exciting news was that they are releasing the Emperor Palpatine & Throne set which sold out really quickly when it was initially released several years ago and has been sitting in limbo ever since with fans who missed the set wanting to get it without paying high scalper prices. Again it’s an Amazon-Exclusive along with the Jedi Survivor three-pack. I hope they aren’t hard to get hold of on Amazon UK
